More than 600 academics from over forty-five different nations attended the 2010 and 2011 events. The Third Asian Conference on Arts and Humanities aims to build on the strengths and successes of the previous two years by offering a true celebration of interdisciplinary study in a stimulating scholarly environment, and in the wonderfully rich physical and cultural environment of Japan. This international conference will again bring together university scholars working throughout Japan, Asia, and beyond to share ideas and forge working relationships with each other over a stimulating, challenging, and fun long weekend.

The 2012 conference theme is "Encounters and Exchanges" and the organizers hope that this will again encourage and inspire exciting new research avenues, and further encourage academic and personal encounters and exchanges across national, religious, cultural and disciplinary divides.
We look forward to seeing you (again) in Osaka in 2012
